Yahoo’s My Blog Log closing down reports Web Traffic News

MyBlogLog image at Web Traffic NewsI recieved an e-mail in my Yahoo e-mail account recently that notified me of Yahoo’s intent to shut down it’s blog application “MyBlogLog”.  I was somewhat dismayed as I like the application and have used it on other blogs that I own.  I found it a useful web traffic getting app. and now I am watching closely to see what will happen next.

Here is part of the message that I recieved:

“Dear MyBlogLog Customer,

You have been identified as a customer of Yahoo! MyBlogLog. We will officially discontinue Yahoo! MyBlogLog effective May 24, 2011. Your agreement with Yahoo!, to the extent that it applies to the Yahoo! MyBlogLog, will terminate on May 24, 2011. ”

What are some traffic getting widgets or applications that you are having good results with?  Leave me a comment…

    Mark,

Yeah its sad news for me to. I was also a customer of mybloglog and i too get similar mail. I didn’t get the reason why they discontinued this useful application. Does any body know this?

I think yahoo discontinued mybloglog because of the extreme power of FaceBook, twitter and other social media sites that were just more popular. I think also that they may have sold the technology or are going to use it in a future integration of some other feature in an upcoming release of a yahoo update or something to that effect.

Thanks for commenting, what is your real name?
