4th Quater 2011 Web Traffic News Update

As we head into the final quater of 2011 web traffic trends are a hot topic this time of year due to the big marketing and advertising push that leads into the holiday sales season.  This is also an interesting period in time due to several key issues that influence the way web traffic is deliverd and consumed.

Three of the pimary influencers that I see affecting website traffic are the  Google Panda updates that took place and are still taking place.  Similarly, YouTube has also had a large impact on several personal and small business channels that it selectively shut down this year with no warning or explanation to users and consumers alike.

The Google and YouTube changes were not neccessarily negative in the big scheme of cyberspace however there are scores of people and businesses who have had to make major adjustments over the past couple months.  I see this trend continuing because Google is not accountable to any one market or social demographic, they are loosely regulated by international and national governing bodies however, not much and their reach, traction, and popularity are firmly rooted into the fabric of cyberspace.

Independant internet terrorist groups have reaked havoc on numerous government and banking websites and interwebs across the globe.  The most recognizable group that has claimed responsibility is the “Anonymous” group.  Much of what they have been accused of is labled as “hacking” in the mainstream media yet I think there is more to the groups attacks than just mere tom foolery.

As the web strata continues to evolve and develop the battle between both no-cost and paid traffic delivery methods continues to play out with many would be start-up entreprenuers trying both types of traffic strategies and usually not finding statisfaction with either.

More often than not uneducated adsense or Facebook advertisers attempt to create ads based on ads that they see being displayed and unkowingly do not set up the innerworkings or setting of the way the add campaign is displayed which runs through their hard earned advertising budget in mere hours or just a few days.

Most no-cost traffic delivery systems are similiar in that there is a website or service one joins to display ads such as websites, banner ads, or even text ads and then the follow on support leaves the new, budding business person left wondering what they did wrong.

There is a reason why big businesses hire marketing and advertising firms and when the little guy is left to figure it out for him or herself often the experience ends in dissapointment.  Individualized coaching and instruction is one sector that is emerging at a grass roots level which is rising up to help small business owners however more needs to be done before the new and small business beginner are going to seek these professionals out.

I dont see much in the way of government regulation having a measurable effect either positive or negative at this time due to the political rodeo taking place with the upcoming elections and the current turmoil facing the United States as well as the European Union and their shaky financial economies.

The bottom line from this web traffic reporter is more of the same from big business and keep your eyes peeled for the up and comming maverick marketers that make up the small and independant business men and women who make large contributions yet go largely un-noticed by the mainstream media!
