The 60 Second Web Traffic Model

Free vs paid website traffic     Web traffic is a prized commodity in the online space for many reasons.  For some people, web traffic equals potential customers, and for others still website traffic equals popularity or social proof that one can use to further escalate one’s station in the pecking order of virtual popularity.

I have yet to find the true measure of the value of web traffic because it means
so many different things to so many different people.  With that being said,
I still aim to give you quality content based on an actionable model that will
bring traffic to your website in 60 seconds.

The most generalized description that one can make about traffic is that it can
be divided into 2 categories; free traffic and paid traffic.

2 great sources of free traffic are word of mouth marketing where you simply tell someone you know to go to website “X” because it’s a cool website that they will find value at.  The next no-cost traffic method that I recommend and have used to build a client list of over 10,000 people from around the world is a traffic exchange website such as: http://www.TrafficDynamite.com

Both methods work to get you traffic in 60 seconds or less.

Since I gave 2 examples of free website traffic, I will not discuss 2 paid versions
of traffic that might work for you (or not).  Depending on what your budget is for paid traffic generation let’s cover 2 of the most popular paid traffic models
that you can apply in 60 seconds;

1st – an ad swap or solo ad to a known buyers list, this is a situation that
exists when you contact someone who has access to a list of people who have
bought the exact or similar product or service that you are marketing and
advertising.  You agree to a set price per person that takes action and opts
in to your list or buys whatever you are selling.

2nd – is the currently popular purchase of social traffic, for example a
Facebook ad or a sponsored post that you pay someone with a large fan base
of following to endorse your product or service.

There are many more methods and strategies to marketing and advertising with
free and paid web traffic which is why I invite you to join me for a webinar with Michelle Pescosolido on 21 March 2012 (Thursday night) at 7:00p.m Central time to learn how to leverage the power of free and paid Facebook advertising.

Website Traffic Giant Google, Still King?

Website Traffic Giant Google, Still King?

No Google Allowed Image     Website traffic and Google go hand in hand, or do they?  There is no denying that gugle is still a fierce competitor in the online website traffic, marketing and advertising industries recent changes as well as gradual shifts in it’s corporate culture have caused insiders to abandon the internet juggernaut.

James Whittaker recently left gugle after a successful career however, he cites several changes with the most recent privacy policy changes which make any information you share on gugle not so private.

You can view the entire article here:  http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jw_on_tech/archive/2012/03/13/why-i-left-google.aspx

One of the best parts of James’s article is the stark reality that “Google was the rich kid who, after having discovered he wasn’t invited to the party, built his own party in retaliation. The fact that no one came to Google’s party became the elephant in the room.”

There is allot of great content with inteligent insight into how gugle was and what it is like now and believe me there is also allot of the word “Facebook” used as well.

One further item to note is the mention of how utube changed once the web video giant was acquired by gugle.  I was even victimized last year by gugle when they deleted my video’s and access from utube ~ what a disappointment and let down.

I stopped using G+ for awhile and I still dont care to use their shiny web browser a try on my computer.  I applaud James for his candor and explaining why he did it.

How do you feel about Google and website traffic, what is your stance on gugle, share a comment with me and let’s talk about it?

SEO and Social are Top Web Traffic Drivers for India

India's National Flag     Last month website traffic stats were released indicating that search engines are still drive the #1 source of website traffic in India with social traffic coming in 2nd and on the rise.  The marketing research firm, Experian reported that search engine traffic in India is now at around 17% of traffic to websites and social networks next at 14%.

4th Quater 2011 Web Traffic News Update

Web traffic globe
This article was first featured on Technorati.com

As we head into the final quater of 2011 web traffic trends are a hot topic this time of year due to the big marketing and advertising push that leads into the holiday sales season.  This is also an interesting period in time due to several key issues that influence the way web traffic is deliverd and consumed.

Three of the pimary influencers that I see affecting website traffic are the  Google Panda updates that took place and are still taking place.  Similarly, YouTube has also had a large impact on several personal and small business channels that it selectively shut down this year with no warning or explanation to users and consumers alike.

The Google and YouTube changes were not neccessarily negative in the big scheme of cyberspace however there are scores of people and businesses who have had to make major adjustments over the past couple months.  I see this trend continuing because Google is not accountable to any one market or social demographic, they are loosely regulated by international and national governing bodies however, not much and their reach, traction, and popularity are firmly rooted into the fabric of cyberspace.

Independant internet terrorist groups have reaked havoc on numerous government and banking websites and interwebs across the globe.  The most recognizable group that has claimed responsibility is the “Anonymous” group.  Much of what they have been accused of is labled as “hacking” in the mainstream media yet I think there is more to the groups attacks than just mere tom foolery.

As the web strata continues to evolve and develop the battle between both no-cost and paid traffic delivery methods continues to play out with many would be start-up entreprenuers trying both types of traffic strategies and usually not finding statisfaction with either.

More often than not uneducated adsense or Facebook advertisers attempt to create ads based on ads that they see being displayed and unkowingly do not set up the innerworkings or setting of the way the add campaign is displayed which runs through their hard earned advertising budget in mere hours or just a few days.

Most no-cost traffic delivery systems are similiar in that there is a website or service one joins to display ads such as websites, banner ads, or even text ads and then the follow on support leaves the new, budding business person left wondering what they did wrong.

There is a reason why big businesses hire marketing and advertising firms and when the little guy is left to figure it out for him or herself often the experience ends in dissapointment.  Individualized coaching and instruction is one sector that is emerging at a grass roots level which is rising up to help small business owners however more needs to be done before the new and small business beginner are going to seek these professionals out.

I dont see much in the way of government regulation having a measurable effect either positive or negative at this time due to the political rodeo taking place with the upcoming elections and the current turmoil facing the United States as well as the European Union and their shaky financial economies.

The bottom line from this web traffic reporter is more of the same from big business and keep your eyes peeled for the up and comming maverick marketers that make up the small and independant business men and women who make large contributions yet go largely un-noticed by the mainstream media!

Hybrid Traffic Platforms Best at Driving Free Web Traffic

website traffic image     Chris Richardson from WebProNews.com recently reported that users of Facebook and Twitter don’t like leaving either site thus they are poor at delivering website traffic.  He goes even farther than just writing it down, Chris backs it up with proof in the form of reference from previous studies and charts from sites such as The Drudge Report

One of my all time favorite methods of no cost traffic delivery is a site called Traffic Dynamite

Traffic Dynamite is more of a traffic community with flexible tools anyone can use to drive web traffic to their sites, blogs, fanpages, twitter profile etc.  With a built in banner, text ad, and traffic exchnage – website traffic is virtually guaranteed.  As long and you can click a mouse you can get free traffic to your site.

Additional features such as social integration and RSS blog technology which allows you to promote your articles and blog posts makes Traffic Dynamite a no brainer.

I like most social media sites however I think that some business people miss the mark when they only focus on using them as traffic sources instead of the socially interactive meeting places that they were designed to be.  It’s not completely impossible to drive traffic using these types of sites either however it does cost money and right now there is no shortage of training courses and e-books that will show you how to market to target markets of your choice on Facebook but it will cost you.

If no cost traffic is your goal as well as effective marketing and promotion of your website seek out traditional traffic drivers such as the site I previoulsy mentioned – you wont be sorry and as Chris reported content sites are better at driving traffic than social sites at the present moment.
